What is Acupuncture?
Many people who are new to acupuncture imagine that inserting needles into the body must be painful.
When you hear the word “needle,” you may picture the thick needles used for injections or sewing.
However, the needles used in acupuncture are extremely fine—about the thickness of a human hair—and have a specially designed tip, so most people feel little to no pain during treatment.
If you are sensitive to pain, we will check with you throughout the session to ensure your comfort, so please feel at ease.
At our clinic, we maintain strict hygiene standards and use sterile, single-use disposable needles for every patient and every session.
What Is Electro-Acupuncture?
Electro-acupuncture is a technique in which a mild, low-frequency electrical current is applied to acupuncture needles that are inserted slightly deeper into specific points of the body.
By applying gentle electrical stimulation, this treatment helps relieve symptoms and promote balance within the body.
The human body naturally conducts small electrical signals, and electro-acupuncture is used to support and improve this natural flow.
Electro-acupuncture is particularly effective for muscle tension, pain, and numbness, and many patients find it both comfortable and relaxing.
What is moxibustion?
When you hear the word moxibustion, do you imagine enduring intense heat and being left with large burn marks, as was common in the past?
At Shinkyu
Shinkyu AOI Acupuncture & Moxibustion, we do not use such methods.
Instead of enduring heat, we carefully adjust the treatment to provide a gentle, comfortable warmth.
We use techniques such as placing moxa on a protective paper tube or applying moxa on top of acupuncture needles, allowing the warmth to spread safely and pleasantly.
If at any point the heat feels too strong, please let us know immediately.
Your comfort and safety are our top priorities.
